T42 Thinkpad will only display to the projector

T42 Thinkpad will only display to the projector, not on the screen Except
once in a while it will flash on for a second.. this happened after I got
rid of a nasty virus (pinterest?) using Malwarebyte. any ideas on how to
get my display back on my screen?
